Background

To cater for the traffic demand arising from the future developments in the Northern Metropolis (NM) (including Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area and Yuen Long South New Development Area), the Government is proactively taking forward a series of road infrastructure projects to enhance the capacity of the road network, strengthen the internal and external traffic connectivity, thereby effectively unleashing the potential for development. The widening of Yuen Long Highway (section between Lam Tei and Tong Yan San Tsuen) is one of the important road infrastructure projects supporting the long-term development of NM.

Modification of at-grade road

Modification of the Yuen Long Highway and/or associated slip roads near Lam Tei Quarry, Tin Shui Wai West Interchange and Tong Yan San Tsuen Interchange

Other associated works

Including geotechnical works, landscaping works, road and drainage, waterworks, public lighting, noise barriers, street furniture, environmental mitigation measures and traffic control and surveillance system
